Saluda Run Club - Volunteers Needed
Registration forms will go home to SES students in 2nd-5th grade on August 26th. We need coaches! If you would like to help coach a group of runners, let me know ASAP! We do not want to limit participants, but we need volunteers.

The Sylvan Farm Track Trail gleams with the promise of adventure and the allure of enchantment. The curtain lifts on its grand opening!
We invite all to come celebrate the Grand Opening of our new one mile hiking trail in Saluda. The first 20 children will get a free prize followed by a ribbon cutting and guided hike. There will be much to discover as you walk through lush forest identifying local species and habitats while checking off your Scavenger Hunt List. The Kids in Parks program encourages families in outdoor recreations to foster lifelong wellness and meaningful connections to nature.

Boil Water Advisory: 08/28/2023
The Saluda CPW water system advises the customers of its public water system that reside on North Main Street between the intersections of Church Street and Travis Avenue in the Town of Saluda to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking and cooking.
A problem experienced in the water distribution system resulted in a loss of pressure and water service to some customers. There has been no confirmed contamination in the system; however, because of this loss of pressure, the potential for contamination exists. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, the CPW is advising its customers, in the affected area, to vigorously boil their water for at least one (1) full minute prior to drinking or cooking until notified otherwise. Also, any ice made from water which has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The Saluda CPW water system is working to correct the problem and restore pressure and water service as soon as possible.

Attention Parents. As of 4pm today (7/27), 45,000 mailing addresses have been verified by parents for the upcoming issuance of P-EBT, and we know over 500,000 children are eligible for this benefit. The Saluda Police Department, Saluda County EMS, and the Saluda County Sheriff's Office are working together to collect school supplies for the students in Saluda County. We're excited to hand out these supplies on July 28th at the park behind Town Hall. Drop off locations are available at Town Hall, Saluda Police Department, and the Saluda County Sheriff's Office.

SALUDA DSS DIAPER DRIVE
The cost of diapers is approximately 8% of a parent's income from a minimum wage job. Parents may have to miss work or school due to lack of diapers; babies experience more diaper rash when parents cannot afford to buy enough diapers.
Saluda DSS is sponsoring a diaper drive to assist low-income parents in Saluda County with diapers.
To Donate: please bring diapers to the DSS office at 613 Newberry Hwy, Saluda, April 17-May 5, 2023.
To Sign Up to Receive Diapers from the Drive: please call (864) 445-3129 to sign up between April 17-May 5, 2023. To qualify, recipient must be receiving WIC/SNAP/Medicaid or qualify for one of these programs.
Diapers will be given to recipients the week of May 8-12, 2023.
