Our community is full of people with the heart to serve. We strive to connect the people willing to help with the people who need it. And we love building new
relationships and strengthening old ones along the way!
Besides our ongoing programs, we serve on the Board of Directors for our First Steps Program, and we serve on the Board of Directors of FEMA for Saluda County Clemson Extension Advisory Council, as well as being a member of the Saluda Service Network.
This is all in addition to serving as an advisory role to our law enforcement agencies, local schools, and DSS as it pertains to children and families in crisis.
We have helped countless families while working with our local utilities grant, guaranteeing that children have essential electricity in their homes. When our impoverished community needed census workers, we canvased our community - ensuring that every child counts. We also regularly advocate in court rooms for our local foster families and children.
The word 'No' is a hard one to give when hearts are big and needs are so great. This is why we are often the first call that schools and agencies make when a local need or a family crisis arises.
This was certainly the case when a paraplegic woman was in desperate need of an air conditioner in the sweltering summer. Or when a single mother of five needed a new stove. Or when an overwhelmed and widowed grandmother raising her two grandchildren needed her house cleaned.
We have raised funds for children's urgent dental care and partnered with local dental clinicians. And we have provided appliances for both domestic violence victims and single moms - because it's the right thing to do when you truly love your neighbor.
We have offered a free after school program for children in need, and are implementing parenting classes and training opportunities to help families break cycles of abuse and neglect.
We provide foster and adoptive parent training/support, working with local agencies (such as schools, law enforcement, and child services) to create awareness within our community and identify needs.

The Potter's House believes every child deserves a safe and stable home, with suitable housing, adequate clothing, and educational resources. But sadly, this is not the reality for most children and families living in our community, where a majority are at or below the poverty level, and over 90% are on free or reduced school lunch.
That's where your generosity and The Potter's House steps in. Together, we're providing innovative solutions for families in crisis.
