The Potter's House was formed with a purpose to meet the needs of vulnerable children, and founded on the firm belief that every child deserves a safe and loving home.
This purpose is personal to our founding Director, Shanna Myers, who first met her two daughters when they were just three and four years old. They were in need of food, shelter, and most of all: Love. They needed a mother who would fight to secure their safety and their future.
(Read their story below.)
Today they are indeed the inspirational history and future of The Potter's House. Serving as a shining example of God's vast heart and endless love for His children.
This same devotion is what birthed The Potter's House Saluda in 2017, and we maintain the same resounding message from our founder --
"I have a longing to love and comfort children with the critical message, 'You are loved', and to safely return them to the Potter's Hands to be made new again."
The Potter's House continues in this timeless truth and with determination when facing challenges, meeting needs, uniting people, and serving the community.
These are my beautiful daughters, Rachel and Laura Ashleigh.
We met when they were 3 and 4 years old. After a long journey full of laughs, love and many tears, I became their forever mom.
It is the goal of The Potter's House to see families made whole, to ensure the safety of children and above all to be ministers of Love.
I can't tell you how each story will begin but I can assure you of the ending--Love. I believe every person has the God given right to be Loved, to know of their Father's Love for them and to Know Him. In every situation there will be an introduction to Christ and the Hope that is found in Him.
I believe His Love can turn every situation around--In fact, I know it. I have experienced it in my own life and in the lives of my children. Every Answer is found in Him.
